Val is a Colombia-based journalist and photographer working at the intersection of music, culture, and storytelling. She's the founder and Editor-in-Chief of Frontlight Magazine, an independent bilingual publication covering alt and international music for a global, LGBTQ+-friendly creative community leading a network of roughly 80 contributors worldwide.

Behind the camera, she runs VHO Fotografía, shooting concerts, private events, or political events. She thrives in spaces where journalism, photography, and community-building overlap, and every piece she writes or frame she shoots is a stance on the story she's telling.

She's currently completing her degree in Social Communication and Journalism at Universidad de La Sabana, with an emphasis in cultural journalism.
